This may be a familiar site for many homeowners in a newly built neighborhood. Luckily we at least had some bark to cut down on the mud. These basalt boulders made for a cost effective yet natural and functional solution to this steep hillside. An extra large cedar raised bed built into the hillside also acted as a retaining wall while bringing a nice contrast of color to the space. In the landscaping world access can make all the difference! Luckily Shonnards was able to use a vacant neighboring lot to access the yard with their excavator.
